Scouting is a great leadership development organization. During the fall, our programs can help scout leaders accomplish their goals using our corn maze and maze games as tools to engage youth in problem-solving exercises, while enjoying fitness and fun. Our Corn Maze with 3 interactive games, covering over 10 acres, challenges Scouts to explore group decision-making options and explore leadership roles, all while having fun. After all, fun is what it's all about and getting lost is a lot of fun.
Camping and campfire nights available.
It is often not the goal that is most important in life, but the journey. You face a lot of challenges leading youth today, not the least of which is "leveling the field." Kids grow up with such different backgrounds, friends, pressures, families, and schools. It can be hard to get them to see that they are all on the same journey.
That's where Fruit Ridge Hayrides Youth Group outings come in. Our new fall corn maze adventure can help your group become cohesive. You see the maze doesn't care what color you are, rich or poor, cool or square, nerd or jock. The maze is simply a bigger problem than any one person can solve. Everyone needs help. The choice becomes clear: work together and escape, or go it alone and get frustrated. At every intersection you make decisions, and every decision has consequences. Sound familiar? That's why mazes have been around for thousands of years. Mazes are an ancient metaphor for life. Chances are your group won't see the lesson coming, until you discuss it with them around the campfire. See Messages in the Maze for printable group devotion suggestions.
In addition to the Corn Maze, our other attractions are also great for youth groups and make for a memorable experience.
A hayride without hay? At Fruit Ridge Hayrides, our custom-built people movers have been built to accommodate people of all abilities. Wagons are low to the ground with bench seats and seat backs. A sturdy ramp allows access for wheelchairs and walkers or special needs strollers. Riders may transfer to a bench seat or stay in their wheelchair. Wagons hold 3-5 wheelchairs along with many bench seat riders.
Wheelchair accessiblilty in the Corn Maze is dependant on ground conditions and wheelchair style. Come on by and give it a try. If conditions don't cooperate, you will be refunded.
The rest of the farm and orchard consists of mowed lawn and gravel driveways that can be negotiated by many wheelchairs. We also have wheelchair accessible restrooms.
We offer corporate outings and options for private events. Book a day on the farm to enjoy the fresh air and old-fashioned fun with your group. Groups of 20 or more may schedule a private event during the week or may enjoy farm activities during regular operating hours.
